Posted: October 15th, 2008

The National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals - Chesapeake Region is glad to announce that we have rescheduled the welcoming reception for Dr. Michael Falk, who was the 2008 recipient (at the national level) of NOGLSTP’s GLBTA Educator of the Year Award, is now a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University. NOGLSTP-CR was delighted to learn that this nationally recognized individual would be making a home in our own backyard, and we are partnering with DSAGA, the Diverse Sexuality And Gender Alliance of JHU, to host this event.

We will start at 6pm with sandwiches; please RSVP so we can make sure we’ll have enough. Then, at about 6:15, Dr. Falk will give a talk entitled “Bashing by Ballot Box: Perspectives of a Gay Michigan Refugee Scientist,” in which he will discuss his observations of the Michigan state government’s handling of LGBT issues during the time he lived there. A map of the Homewood campus is available at http://tinyurl.com/2wvz8e, and entry into Shaffer Hall is not restricted.
